A brazen gang armed with dummy guns robbed a stone crushing unit of Rs 80,000 in cash in Umbuda village, Ri-Bhoi, today morning.
The incident of dacoity occurred between 12:30am and 1am when police were informed via telephone of the crime.
Police rushed to the scene where they were informed that seven to eight masked men came to the office of the stone crushing unit and threatened staff with the dummy weapons. No one was harmed in the incident but the cash was taken by the robbers from a locker on the premises.
A police case has been registered and police are trying to trace the miscreants.
