Fuel attendants of a petrol pump in the city were made to do sit-ups while holding their ears with their hands for allegedly cheating customers.
Members of the Khasi Student’s Union (KSU), Laban circle said they had acted after complaints were received from various costumers that the attendants of a fuel station located at Anjali point dispense lower quantities of fuel as they would stand in front of the meter and distract costumers.
According to the KSU, all the attendants were also employed without valid documents.
The KSU said the manager has been asked terminate their jobs and that no such scam is repeated and to ensure that meters are not rigged otherwise they will be compelled to shut down the petrol pump.
