Fresh tension grips Khanduli as a clash reportedly broke along the Assam-Meghalaya border today leaving two people injured.
Sources said today, a father and son had gone to the paddy field when they were chased away by a group of persons. When villagers heard about the incident a clash broke out between the two communities.
Stone pelting and fist fight was also reported during the incident as two huts were also burnt down.
It is also reported that two persons from the Karbi community were injured and were taken to a hospital in Hojai for medical treatment.
This came after the Dorbar Shnong in Khanduli decided to restrict the Karbi community to pass through the village after a group of persons from Karbi Anglong reportedly threatened the villagers from going to their paddy fields.
Waheh Shnong of Khanduli Yooshida Nongspung said the village is tensed and the dorbar shnong is putting efforts to calm the situation down.
The vehicle in which West Jaiñtia Hills Superintendent of Police, Shemphang Syrti was travelling was also pelted with stones during the clash.
