Shillong, Apr 6: MWire Labs, a Shillong-based AI research and language technology company, has announced NortheastGenAI 2026, a virtual workshop focused on AI-assisted research on Northeast India’s languages, cultures, and ecosystems.
The free workshop will take place on May 29, 2026 that will cover Language, Culture and Heritage, Society, History and Anthropology and AI and Technology for Northeast India.
The keynote address will be delivered by Bonaventure F. P. Dossou, McGill University and Mila, on “Doing More with Less: Efficient Methods for Low-Resource Languages”.
NortheastGenAI has invited submissions from researchers. Submissions open on April 8, 2026 and will end on May 15, 2026.
