The All Meghalaya Fourth Teachers Association’s Garo Hills unit has repeated their demand for an enhancement in teacher salaries.
The association is pushing for an increase from Rs 12,000 a month to Rs 20,493, which would put them at par with other teachers in the state according to the principle of ‘equal pay for equal work’.
The fourth teachers have been pushing for this since 2017, to no avail, by meeting ministers and top civil servants.
