The Achik State Peoples’ Front (ASPF) yesterday held its fourth public meeting on the demand for a winter capital in Tura at Rongrenggre playground in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills district.

During the meeting, ASPF general secretary Bernita Marak highlighted the concept of a winter capital and its potential advantages for the community.
APA president Roger D. Shira conveyed his organisation’s commitment to support the leaders advocating for the demand and assured collaboration until the intended objectives are achieved.
GES president Slang Goera Marak appreciated ASPF and the Garo Land State Movement Committee (GSMC) in advancing the cause. He also announced plans for a larger mobilisation meeting throughout the East Garo Hills district.
The meeting concluded with an announcement that the next public meeting will be held in North Garo Hills.
