Four districts of Meghalaya received medals of achievement as a recognition for their efforts in a fight towards ending Tuberculosis in the State and Nation as a whole by 2025.
The medals were awarded by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare at the World TB Summit 2023 held at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on March 24.
East Khasi Hills district bagged silver while West Garo Hills, West Jaiñtia Hills and West Khasi Hills district got the bronze medals.
Health and Family Welfare Secretary and Mission Director, NHM Ramkumar S, received the medals on behalf of the state.
“Congratulations to the four districts for the efforts in fighting towards ending TB by 2025. It’s an honour for the districts to receive this recognition,” the NHM tweeted.
“We can do better, and we are going to give more in our efforts in the coming days. Let’s do this together. Gold is the target. Let’s aim for it,” it said.
