Shillong, Dec 1: The State Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) arrested four persons and seized 72.93 grams of heroin during a raid conducted at the Seven Sister Hotel in Police Bazar today.
ANTF Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad said the raid was conducted at around 2.30 pm. The team first arrested one Sajul Ali (28) from room number 25 of the hotel who was in possession of two soap boxes of the contraband.
The team then entered room number 11 and arrested one Rahim Uddin Lashar, who was sharing the room with another accused identified as Akbar Ali (31).
Prasad said one of the accused Sajul revealed that he had sold two soap boxes that contained heroin to a peddler named Amit Thapa.
Based on his revelation, a second raid was conducted at Polo and arrested the accused from a cobbler shop where he had hidden the contraband, the SP added.
