Founder president of FKJGP and former MDC of Mylliem constituency, Sounder Strong Cajee passed away today following a cardiac arrest.
According to family members, Cajee felt uneasy at around 7:30 am at his residence in Laban. He was rushed to Bethany Hospital here where he was declared brought dead.
59-year-old Cajee along with cabinet minister Alexander L. Hek and others formed the FKJGP in 1989. He served as president of the organisation till 1997.
He contested the Assembly elections from Mylliem constituency in 1998 but lost to Pynshai Manik Syiem by a small margin.
In 1999 he contested the District Council election from the same constituency and won.
It may be noted that Cajee’s brother Founder Strong Cajee (55), former minister and four-time MDC from Mawlai, had passed away following a cardiac arrest in Christian Medical College, Vellore in November 2015.
Meanwhile, A L Hek, South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai and the FKJGP have condoled the demise of Cajee.
