Former chairperson of the State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights, Meena Kharkongor has expressed shock over the death of a student of Loyola Secondary School in Williamnagar.
Condemning the incident, Kharkongor said she stands in support with the parents and citizens of East Garo Hills.
In a statement today, the former SCPCR chairperson has urged the District Education Department to look into the matter and spread awareness in all schools that no such incidents happen in the future.
“I also hope that the magisterial inquiry will shed light into this matter,” Kharkongor said while offering her condolences to the bereaved family.
