Shillong, Mar 6: The Social Welfare Department in collaboration with the Shillong Sports Association organised an International Women’s Day 2026 football event in Shillong on Friday.
A penalty shootout tournament was won by Lumparing over Mawkasiang B. Then, a friendly football match was held between Lumparing and Laitkor, with the latter victorious 2-1.
MLA Santa Mary Shylla was the chief guest. Also present were SSA president Banteidor Lyngdoh MLA, Social Welfare Director Camelia D Lyngwa and other senior figures in the department and SSA.
