The Federation of Khasi Jaiñtia and Garo People, Garo Hills zone, Tura intercepted a vehicle that was allegedly smuggling timber to Assam near Okapara playground under South West Garo hills.
The organisation additional general secretary, Rohit R. Marak in a statement here today said that the seizure was made along with the patrolling staff of the GHADC late last night at around 11:35.
The vehicle (AS 34 C 0478) and its contents were then handed over to the Range Forest Officer, GHADC Tura.
