The members of the Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) and Forest personnel of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) seized a truck carrying illegally felled timber.
The truck (ML 05S 7541) was proceeding towards Assam when it was stopped at Rongmeram, West Garo Hills, at around 1:30am on Wednesday, the FKJGP said in a press release.
The truck was found to be travelling without any valid documentation. It was handed over to the Range Forest Officer of the GHADC for further action.
