The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has directed the FKJGP to submit a reply by November 1 to the show cause notice issued to the organisation for its alleged violation of the conditions imposed by the district administration for holding the rally on unemployment in the city on October 28.
According to the notice, during the course of the rally, the members participating in the rally indulged in acts of vandalism damaging vehicles belonging to the general public and assaulting passers-by.
The notice said the conditions imposed by the district administration in the permission order dated October 25 have been blatantly violated by the participants in the rally, which is contrary to the undertaking given by FKJGP general secretary Eldie N. Lyngdoh.
“You are therefore directed to show cause as to why penal action should not be initiated against you for violating the conditions as laid down by the district administration in its order dated October 25,” the notice said.
“Your reply should reach the office of the undersigned on or before November 1, failing which the office of the undersigned will initiate legal action against you,” the Deputy Commissioner said in the notice.
