Shillong, Sep 3: The Meghalaya Swimming Association is set to host the first Masters (Age Group) Swimming Championship at the Crinoline Swimming Pool, Shillong on October 1.
General Secretary Baika R. Lyngdoh said the event promises to be a game-changer, promoting competitive swimming in Meghalaya and providing a platform for athletes across generations to showcase their skills.
He informed that the championship will feature men’s and women’s events across multiple age categories, starting from 25-29 years and extending to 80 years and above. This inclusive approach makes it one of the most diverse aquatic competitions in the region.
Swimmers will compete in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly events, with each participant allowed a maximum of three individual races.
Registration opens on September 4 and closes on September 24, 2025.
