The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), has developed first aid manuals and a mobile phone app for imparting first aid training to teachers and school children.
This initiative, aptly named FAST (First Aid for Students and Teachers), aims to ensure that emergency situations on school premises are swiftly dealt with until the arrival of professional medical help. A set of three manuals for Classes 8 to 10, for Classes 11 to 12 and for teachers has been developed.
These manuals can be accessed through a mobile app named First Aid for Students Teachers, which is available both on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
