A fire broke out at a house in Rangblang-Sohsynïang, South West Khasi Hills District today, police said.
No casualty was reported in the incident, they added.
The incident occurred at around 1am in the house that belonged to Merylinda Thyrniang, sources said.
Villagers rushed to the incident site to help douse the flames. Though no one was present in the house when the incident took place all belongings were reduced to ashes, which was estimated at Rs 2 lakh, residents said.
