A week-long festival of science and technology – ‘Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate’ – Festival of Science Communication Popularisation and its Extension and National Science Day 2022 will be organised jointly by the State Council of Science Technology and Environment (SCSTE) and Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous body of the central government’s Department of Science and Technology on February 22-28 from 11am.
There will be two venues – All Saints’ Hall in Shillong and the Tura Science Centre.
The week-long festival will feature a science book exhibition, exhibition of wheels by ISRO, science and technology exhibitions, open quiz, extempore speech and innovative ideas competitions, display of science and technology posters, screening of science films and lectures on different science and technology themes.
The programme will culminate on February 28 to mark this year’s National Science Day celebration. Awards will also be conferred on students who scored highest marks in mathematics and science and technology in the SSLC and HSSLC examinations conducted by MBOSE in 2021.
