The Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) resumed its agitation today, with the ad hoc teachers staging a protest in front of the Main Secretariat here.
FASTOM relaxed its agitation on May 2 after it received a positive response from the Education Department on its demand for higher salaries and (eventually) bringing the teachers under the deficit system.
However, there was no further communication from the government’s side on the salary hikes, which led to FASTOM restarting its agitation.
FASTOM spokesperson, Mayborn Lyngdoh said that if the CM does not invite them for the discussion, they will hold another public rally on May 12 in Shillong and Tura.
