Nongpoh, Dec 29: As part of the observance of Farmers’ Week, or Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan Week, which commenced on December 23 and concluded today, the Ri-Lajong Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO), Ri-Bhoi District, today organised a training programme for farmers on natural and chemical-free farming practices.
The programme was organised with the objective of recognising the significant contribution of farmers and promoting the adoption of scientific farming methods in keeping with modern advancements for the overall welfare and benefit of the farming community.
On this occasion, the Ri-Lajong Farmer Producer Organisation also distributed hundreds of agricultural tools to farmers, including hoes, spades, motors and other implements. At the same time high-quality seeds were also distributed to farmers belonging to 15 different units under the organisation.
