The ICAR, KVK, Ri-Bhoi organised a one-day training on “Jalkund-Water Conservation Technologies” under NICRA Project in collaboration with ATMA, Nongpoh in Mawbri village.
About 30 farmers were trained on use of low cost water conservation technologies that cover smart solutions to enable farmers to harvest and utilise rainwater, coping with erratic rainfall patterns as well as crop cultivation, rearing of fish and other income avenues during dry spells.
An interaction programme was also held with farmers where Dr.Moloy S Baruah, SMS, Animal Science and ATMA officials clarified doubts of the farmers.
The programme concluded with distribution of leadflet on Jalkund in Khasi language and silpauline distribution to the farmers of Mawbri, Liarkhla and Thadnongiaw villages.
