Shillong, Aug 27: A day-long training programme was organised by KVK Ri-Bhoi recently at the ICAR, KVK, Ri-Bhoi with the aim to improve productivity and promote sustainable farming practices among farmers and farmer producer organisations in this region.
More than 30 farmers participated and they heard lectures on scientific agronomic practices to improve the livelihood of the farming community. They were also taken to the ICAR, KVK, farm to expose them to various enterprises as a part of the programme. A group discussion was later held among the scientists, officials and farmers in order to clarify the doubts of the farmers.
