Fake names of beneficiaries were generated in the website of the Agriculture department to avail benefits under the PM Kisan scheme.
This was revealed by the Hynñiewtrep Youth Council (HYC), Mawlai circle today.
Most of the names were that of non-local residents of Mawlai Umjajew, Umjaiur, Nonglum and others.
Circle president, Rhemdor Saiborne met the block development officer to seek clarification on the entry of fake names. The delegation was told that this was not the first instance as the same was reported in Mawpat area.
Saiborne said that they were informed that there is an attempt by few persons from outside the state and office of the BDO has lodged a complaint and the investigation on the matter is ongoing.
