The Chief Inspector of Boilers and Factories has informed that all occupiers, owners of unregistered units and factories in Meghalaya who have not yet applied for a licence to establish a factory with the Chief Inspector’s office are to apply online for the period beginning February 1 at the earliest.
Registration can be done through the website investmeghalaya.gov.in. Non-registration is punishable under the Factories Act 1948 and Meghalaya Factories Rules 1980.
No offline applications will be entertained as the office has switched over to an online system, the Chief Inspector added in a press release.
