Shillong, Oct 7: The MDA-2 government has accommodated MLAs of its allies who were dropped from the Cabinet as new advisors and chairmen.
Umroi NPP MLA Damanbait Lamare has been appointed as Chairman of the Meghalaya Urban Development Authority (MUDA), earlier held by Wailadmiki Shylla.
The Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), earlier chaired by South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai has been given to Mendipathar NPP MLA Marthon J Sangma.
BJP MLA Alexander Laloo Hek has been named Chairman of the State Government Programme Implementation & Monitoring Committee
HSPDP MLA Shakliar Warjri, who earlier held Sport and Youth Affairs, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC).
UDP MLA Kyrmen Shylla now becomes Adviser to the Department of Mining & Geology and NPP MLA Comingone Ymbon has been made Adviser to Home (Police).
As per the notification, the new appointees will receive remuneration and benefits under Category “A+” as prescribed by the Finance (AF) Department.
