Noted lawyer and the former Additional Advocate General, WHD Syngkon, passed away today morning at NEIGRIHMS. He was 70.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma paid tribute on social media, saying that Syngkon had made rich contributions to Meghalaya’s legal fraternity. “His demise is a huge loss to the state,” he added.
Syngkon had also contested the 2018 Assembly elections on a Congress ticket for the North Shillong constituency and finished third.
His body was taken to his residence in Mawkhar, of which he was a former headman, before cremation in Jaiaw.
