The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaiñtia Hills District has informed all event organizers under the district to strictly follow and adhere to the SOPs/protocols issued by the Health Department as the number of cases is expected to rise during winter season.
“To cope with the burden of the health workers the organizers of events such as weddings or funerals should provide the list of participants to the Medical Officers in charge before the events in order to curb the spread of Covid-19 cases,” the order said.
The DC said any violation of the order will be booked under Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases Covid-19 (Fifth Amendment) Regulation Act 2020.
