Advocate, Erwin K Sutnga who recently joined the Congress has claimed that the public response towards the party is “good.”
Stating that the people understand what is happening to the state under the present MDA coalition government, he said, “It is the people who will ultimately decide because all the facts, the wrongdoings, and the frustration are before them.”
“The electorate who’s wearing the shoes knows where the nail pinches and they know that there is no better alternative and they should give the Congress a chance,” he told HP.
He justified that people should remember that the state of Meghalaya was given by Congress including the autonomous district councils and that the secular nature of the Constitution of India and the concept of a welfare state, was also brought in by the Congress.
Stating that under the Congress rule the administration is at least functioning, he said, “If one kept saying what the Congress has done then the list could go on and they can compare which government has performed better.”
He, however, stated that more important is the commitment from every citizen of the state that once a new change comes it should function accordingly and not be allowed to do whatever they want in the five years term.
