Shillong, Oct 1: Meghloom Eri Women Producer Company Limited (MEWPCL) officially inaugurated its office and showroom at Pahamlapong village, Ri Bhoi District.
The MEWPCL brings together women weavers from across the region, providing them with a platform to showcase and sell their Eri Silk and Ryndia products. The company’s mission aligns with the government’s initiative to promote and recognize the traditional weaving industry.
The showroom was launched by Nongpoh MLA Mayral Born Syiem in the presence of MDC Rona Khymdeit and M. Langstieh, CEO of Meghloom.
The inauguration was followed by Meghloom’s fourth annual general meeting, where women weavers gathered to discuss ways to further promote and strengthen the weaving industry.
This milestone marks a significant step forward for Meghloom and the women weavers of Ri Bhoi District, showcasing their dedication to preserving traditional craftsmanship and promoting sustainable livelihoods.
