Shillong, Nov 24: A one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) was successfully organised at Ri-Bhoi District, on November 22.
The programme was conducted by the Branch MSME Development & Facilitation Office (Br. MSME DFO), Shillong, under the Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME in collaboration with Friends of Women’s World Banking India (SHG network).
The primary objective of the EAP was to enhance awareness among local entrepreneurs about the various flagship schemes of the Ministry of MSME and to facilitate on-the-spot Udyam Registration. This initiative aims to enable participants to avail themselves of government benefits and support seamlessly, reflecting the Ministry’s continued commitment to strengthening grassroots entrepreneurship and fostering inclusive growth in the region.
Assistant Director Prabhat Kumar Singh, in his address, emphasised the crucial role of formalisation, digital onboarding, and capacity-building for emerging entrepreneurs in Meghalaya. He provided guidance on the opportunities available under multiple MSME schemes and highlighted the importance of enterprise registration in unlocking access to credit, training, and marketing support.
Other officials and experts also addressed the gathering. They interacted with the participants, stressing the need for continuous skill enhancement, enterprise development and local value creation.
Entrepreneurs, members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and youth from the district participated in the event. A significant number of participants completed their Udyam Registration during the camp and expressed appreciation for the direct, hands-on support provided by the Br. MSME DFO, Shillong team.
