Shillong, Jan 31: East Khasi Hills district has bagged the prestigious Best Election District Award for its outstanding performance in election management and logistics.
The award was presented to Deputy Commissioner Rosetta M. Kurbah by President Droupadi Murmu during the National Voters’ Day celebrations in New Delhi.
The district’s meticulous planning, strong coordination, and effective last-mile delivery were key factors in securing this recognition. East Khasi Hills efficiently conducted Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, ensuring a smooth voting process.
Nuapada district in Odisha and Purnea district in Bihar also received recognition in the same category.
