The odd-even rule for private vehicles in the State and night curfew will come into force from tomorrow.
As per the arrangement, private vehicles with registration numbers ending in odd number will travel on Monday and those ending in even number will travel on Tuesday and to follow the odd-even sequence thereafter. However, on Sundays the odd-even rule will not apply.
Meanwhile, in East Khasi Hills, the district administration has announced exemptions from the odd-even rule and night curfew for a certain category of employees and individuals.
These included health services including emergency services and vaccination, medicines and pharmaceuticals, movement of essential goods, movement for medical emergencies and persons travelling on Essential Government duty such as medical teams and officials on Covid-19 duty, police, security and armed forces, Civil Defence and Home Guards and fire service.
Exemption was also given to employees working in electricity supply, water supply, municipal services, Public Distribution System, Information and Public Relations, telecommunication services, print and electronic media, NARI and 1917iTEAMS, petrol pumps, LPG distributors and essential veterinary services including feed and fodder movement for livestock for farmers.
