Eastern Air Command (EAC) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will conduct its annual command-level exercise, Ex Poorvi Akash, from October 30.
The exercise, which will run until November 5, will comprise application of air power in all its roles and will be conducted by day and night.
The exercise also comprises joint operations with the Eastern Command (EC) of the Indian Army in the challenging mountainous terrain and will involve activation of the entire Eastern Sector.
The special forces of the IAF, the Garuds, will participate in special missions along with the army’s Special Forces. Air defence assets of the army and IAF will also be deployed to simulate realistic battle scenarios.
All major fleets of the air force will be participating in the exercise along with special mission aircraft, it was informed through a press release today.
