Following the government’s announcement unveiling the Agnipath scheme, the AOC-in-C Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal Dilip Kumar Patnaik briefed the media today regarding the attractive recruitment scheme for Indian youths to serve in the armed forces.
The central government yesterday announced the Agnipath scheme under which soldiers will be recruited for a four-year stint, applicable to the Indian Army, Indian Navy and India Air Force. The scheme is open to those aged 17 and a half to 21 years old.
The AOC stated that the scheme, which has been designed to boost the Armed Forces’ youthful profile, will benefit three levels – the youth themselves, the armed forces and the nation.
He also cleared doubts and scepticism regarding the scheme and explained in detail how the scheme will help the nation in the long-run. The scheme stands to immensely benefit by infusion of highly inspired youth with deeper understanding of self-discipline, diligence and focus, who would be adequately skilled and will be able to contribute in other sectors, he added.
Air Marshal Patnaik further urged the youths of the region to take advantage of the Agnipath scheme and be a part of the new generation of well trained and motivated citizens of the country.
