Shillong, Feb 24: Police in East Jaintia Hills arrested two men who were travelling with a consignment of heroin late on Sunday.
The police intercepted an Assam-registered Alto K10 (AS 11R 1523) at 11:30pm during routine checking on the highway.
Superintendent of Police Pankaj Rasgania revealed today that 17 soap boxes containing the heroin were recovered from the vehicle. Two individuals, Suhal Ahmed (20) and Aktar Hussain (37), both from Assam’s Cachar district, were arrested in connection with the seizure.
