With cars and bikes getting unruly on the roads, the Shillong Traffic Police has launched a crackdown and warned cancellation of driving license for reckless driving.
During the crackdown today, two-wheelers with no registration numbers or those not visible to the eye, who usually indulge in racing at odd hours, are being checked and fined, the STP said.
Similarly, checking is being conducted for modified exhaust pipes to control the menace of noise from two wheelers.
Vehicles, both two-wheelers and four wheelers, which are retrofitted with loud exhaust pipes, stand in violation of Section 182A (4)/190(2) of Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
