The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has informed that excise officials carried out several raids against restaurants and stalls in Shillong and its outskirts in November, leading to the seizure of over 300 litres of liquor and the arrest of 18 people.
Excise staff detected 26 cases and seized 306.58 litres of indigenous alcohol and 6.37 litres of IMFL.
The 18 have been arrested under the Excise Act and the cases are under investigation.
