The District Election Officer of East Khasi Hills has informed that the draft electoral rolls, copies of which are available for inspection at their respective offices up to December 8, 2022, have been published. The qualifying date for the preparation of the electoral roll is January 1, 2023.
The rolls are for Mawryngkneng, Pynthorumkhrah, Mawlai, East Shillong, North Shillong, West Shillong, South Shillong, Mylliem, Nongthymmai, Nongkrem, Sohiong, Mawphlang, Mawsynram, Pynursla and Mawkynrew.
If, with reference to the above said qualifying date, there be any claim for the inclusion of a name in the Roll or any objection to the inclusion of name or any objection to particulars in any entry, it should be lodge on or before December 8 through Form 6, 6A, 7, 8 as may be appropriate.
An eligible citizen, who is going to attain the age of 18 on any of the subsequent qualifying dates in the year 2023, that is to say on April 1, July 1 or October 1, 2023, may also file his or her claim for inclusion of his or her name in the roll, in Form-6 in advance, starting from date of notice, and the same shall be considered and decided in the respective quarter of the year with reference to the respective qualifying date.
