A group of doctors and medical students under the banner of “Doctors for You” with the support of Standard Chartered donated 20 microscopes and 16 refrigerators to the National Tuberculosis Elimination programme in the State.
These were today handed to State Tuberculosis Officer Meghalaya, Dr. M. Mawrie.
The group is a non-profit organisation founded by a group of doctors, medical students and like-minded people in 2007 with a vision of “Health for All”.
At present doctors for you is focusing on Disaster management and strengthening health system covering about 23 states in India and Meghalaya is one of those.
Dr Mawrie who applauded the group for their continuous support to the programme said that such support will help the programme, especially when the State is aiming at TB elimination by 2025.
