Jowai, Dec 3:The Mission Director of DREAM (Drugs Reduction, Elimination & Action Mission) held a district level meeting on prevention of drugs yesterday at the District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, Jowai.
The meeting was attended by the DREAM Director Francis G Kharshiing, DV Lyngdoh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, District Social Welfare Officer, Jowai Y.Najiar, Secretary District Legal Service Authority, DG Kharshiing, Dr. JN Shullai Director of Mihmyntdu Community Social Welfare Organizations (MCSWA), NGOs, heads of Elaka, headmen and representatives from Jowai locality, police and education department.
The DREAM Director outlined the objective of the mission and reiterated the commitment to addressing drug related challenges. He emphasised that drug abuse remains a serious concern in many communities that needs urgent preventive strategies, awareness programmes and coordination.
A brief interaction was held where participants shared their concern, suggestion and collaborative approach for preventive measures.
