The District Level Co-ordination Committee was held today at the Multi-purpose Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mawkyrwat wherein different developmental departments gave made a presentation on various schemes which was implemented in the district.
The committee was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner of the district, W. Biam in the presence of South West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Caramai Kharkongor
Speaking at the programme, Kharkongor said that the meeting was held to review the schemes, projects and developmental programmes implemented by different departments not only for the benefit and welfare of the people but for development of the district as a whole. She said though the meeting was long overdue due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the officers were able carry out a number of activities.
She hoped that the meeting could benefit people through converging efforts and if there’s a scope of merging the schemes that would invariably save government’s money.
