The much-anticipated penalty shootout of Dinet Manik Syiem Memorial Higher Secondary School kicked off at Madan Laitkor on April 12.
Altogether 30 teams from the different parts of Shillong and Ri-Bhoi took part.
Organising Secretary Ownlight Mylliemngap said, “Such a participatory event marks a significant milestone in the school’s commitment to bringing the best talent from across the state, thereby giving them exposure. We are also trying to make it into an inclusive sport with the involvement of a girls’ category.”
Walden R. Massar, MCS, Assistant Commissioner, Mairang, and Drimsibon Kharkongor, Principal Dinet Manik Syiem Memorial Higher Secondary School, presented the Ri-bhoi team with a cash prize of Rs 40,000.
