Fifty commendations in silver and bronze categories were awarded to police officials by the Director General of Police, R Chandranathan, here today.
Police officials at the rank of Superintendent of Police and below were awarded the DGP’s commendation medals and certificates. Chandranathan handed out the awards for the Eastern Range policemen, while Deputy Inspector General of Police, A Kumar, distributed those to Western Range policemen.
Altogether there were 11 silver commendations issued to SPs while 39 bronze awards went to the lower ranks.
Police personnel of the Western Range and those posted in New Delhi attended the ceremony via video conferencing.
