Shillong, Aug 1: The A·chik Dedicated Integrity Leaders (ADIL), representing the Western zonal and Chibinang sub-unit, have formally lodged a complaint against the designated Dental Officer at the Phulbari Community Health Centre (CHC) in West Garo Hills.
This action follows multiple complaints from concerned residents who have been repeatedly denied treatment due to the dentist’s persistent absence from duty. Local citizens, many of whom travel long distances via public transport at personal expense, report being forced to return home without medical attention. This lack of availability has caused serious distress among patients who depend on the CHC for timely dental care.
In response, ADIL conducted a direct inspection yesterday and confirmed that the dentist was not present and had not been attending to patients as per their professional responsibilities. “Such negligence in a government health facility not only violates public trust but also undermines the essential right to accessible healthcare,” it said in a statement.
