The southern border area unit of the Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) has convened a meeting with commercial vehicles operators to demand the repair and widening of the road from Balat to Weiloi, which they say has been left unattended for the last 50 years.
The HYYF has called the Meghalaya Commercial Truck Owners & Driver Association, Mawsynram Tourist Association, Sawsymper Tourist Association, Lawbah Tourist Association and others to demand the repair and widening of the road.
HNYF unit president Kyllang Thongni told reporters that if the government resists their demand they will soon hold a public rally at Balat market and Mawsynram.
