Delegates from 13 countries came to Meghalaya on Friday to inspect rubber seedlings grown in Umtru.
The delegates numbered 22 and came from Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Thailand and Ivory Coast.
The central government has launched various schemes, including providing subsidies, to encourage farmers to produce rubber in the North East states with the aim of reducing dependence on foreign countries for rubber supplies.
Omega Green Solutions has set up a large rubber nursery in the Jirang area on 40 acres of land.
The organisation has provided employment opportunities to the youth of the North East through the establishment of such nurseries. The organisation has previously operated large rubber seedling nurseries in Kamrup and Goalpara districts of Assam.
