Yesterday, the body of an unidentified man in a decomposed state was recovered at around 2:15pm from the Kai Duma river, which is under the Umpleng police outpost in East Jaintia Hills.
The body was found floating on the water. Once recovered, a spot inquiry was conducted and an inquest and other formalities were completed. The body is being stored at the Khliehriat community health centre morgue and family are requested to come and identify and collect it. Those with information can call 9774104124.
The approximate age of the deceased is between 35 and 45. He was around 5 feet, 6 inches tall, of medium build, swarthy complexion, with a round face and black hair. He was found wearing violet coloured underwear.
