Confectioners in Mawkyrwat has urged the Deputy Commissioner to allow them to open their shops daily to prevent perishable foods getting spoilt.
According to the confectioners, even though the district administration allows them to open their shops on specified days based on numbering, this was not suitable as going by the current system, a confectioner gets to open only once a week.
Stating that the food items under confectioneries decay easily especially during the summer, they said most of them are wasted especially bread.
They suggested the DC if permission is given for them to open their shops from Monday to Saturday.
