All government officials and contractual staff in Amlarem civil sub-division must take an RT-PCR test before going back to office if they have not received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The regulation will come into force from tomorrow. It mandates that employees be tested using RT-PCR every 14th day and that they produce their Covid-negative test report once every fortnight.
Those who show symptoms of the disease will have to isolate at home for seven days and the period of isolation will be taken out of their leave entitlement.
Meanwhile, the Sub-Divisional Officer of Dadenggre has urged frontline workers to get vaccinated. According to the notification, all the PDS wholesale dealers and fair price shop dealers along with labourers, truck drivers, handymen and others involved in lifting and distribution of foodgrain in the sub-division are considered as frontline workers.
In South West Khasi Hills, the Deputy Commissioner has advised all residents of the district to strictly adhere to family containment measures, namely to wear masks even within the vicinity of their own homes, to complete their home isolation period and banning inter-house visits especially those in close neighbourhoods.
