The Pedaldoba regional unit of the Garoland State Movement Committee alleged today that a woman from Dainadubi, North Garo Hills, was assaulted inside Dudnoi police station, Assam.
According to a press release, the woman had accompanied her husband after the latter was summoned to the police station on July 4.
After reaching the police station, the husband left for some other work but the woman remained. A woman police constable (WPC) there then “physically assaulted” and inflicted “grievous bodily harm” on the woman, the GSMC said while calling for action against the WPC.
